ULTRASOUND PELVIS (TVS) 3D

A TVS (transvaginal) pelvic ultrasound is an internal scan using a slender probe inserted into the vagina to produce detailed images of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes and cervix. It’s used to assess pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, infertility, masses or early pregnancy. It provides higher-resolution views than abdominal scans, is generally safe and quick, and may cause mild discomfort.

A 3D pelvic scan is an imaging test that creates three-dimensional views of pelvic organs (uterus, ovaries, bladder, prostate) using advanced ultrasound or cross-sectional imaging. It improves visualization of anatomy, fibroids, polyps, congenital anomalies, tumors and helps assess infertility, pain or abnormal bleeding. Scans can be transabdominal or transvaginal for higher detail, are generally quick, non‑invasive and considered safe.

A 3D TV test is a simple screening using stereoscopic images or video to assess depth perception and binocular vision. Viewers note whether they see proper 3D depth without double vision, blurring, eye strain, headaches, or nausea. Poor or absent stereopsis, persistent discomfort, or eye misalignment suggests a binocular-vision problem and warrants a professional eye examination.

A transvaginal pelvic ultrasound is usually not painful, though many women feel pressure, mild discomfort or brief cramping when the probe is inserted. Some experience spotting or more discomfort if there’s infection, pelvic inflammation, vaginal atrophy, or high anxiety. The exam is brief and the probe is lubricated; tell the clinician if pain is severe so the procedure can be adjusted or stopped.

Transvaginal (TVS) ultrasound costs vary by country and facility: in India private clinics typically charge about ₹600–3,000; in the UK it's free on the NHS but private scans usually cost £80–£300; in the United States out‑of‑pocket fees commonly range from $200–$1,000 depending on facility and whether insurance covers it. Prices vary by location, complexity, and whether additional imaging or specialist interpretation is needed.

Transvaginal ultrasound provides higher-resolution images of the uterus, endometrium, ovaries and early pregnancy, making it preferable for pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, infertility evaluation or suspected ectopic pregnancy. Transabdominal pelvic ultrasound offers a wider field, useful for larger masses and when a full bladder or noninvasive exam is needed, or the transvaginal approach is contraindicated. Often both are used; choice depends on the clinical question and patient comfort.
