CT SCAN RIGHT WRIST WITH 3D RECONSTRUCTION

3D reconstruction in CT is a post-processing technique that converts multiple 2D cross-sectional images into three-dimensional visualizations. Using algorithms like volume rendering, surface rendering and maximum intensity projection, it enhances spatial understanding of complex anatomy, fractures, vessels and tumors. It aids surgical planning, measurement of structures and noninvasive evaluation without extra radiation, allowing interactive rotation, slicing and quantitative assessment.

Possible side effects of a 3D CT scan include exposure to ionizing radiation (slightly increased lifetime cancer risk), allergic reactions to iodinated contrast (nausea, rash, itching, rare anaphylaxis), contrast-related kidney injury in people with impaired renal function, a warm or metallic taste during injection, injection-site pain or bruising, dizziness or headache, and discomfort or anxiety from lying still or feeling confined.
