A 48-hour Holter monitor continuously records the heart’s electrical activity for two days to detect abnormal rhythms and rate trends. It identifies arrhythmias (premature beats, tachycardia, bradycardia, pauses), heart-rate variability with activity and sleep, ischemic ST changes, pacemaker performance, and correlates symptoms (dizziness, palpitations) with ECG events.
