3D TVS COLOUR DOPPLER

A 3D echocardiogram with color Doppler is a noninvasive ultrasound test that produces three-dimensional moving images of the heart while overlaying color-coded maps of blood flow. It lets clinicians evaluate valve structure and function, chamber size, wall motion, and abnormal blood flow (regurgitation, stenosis, or shunts) in real time. It’s commonly used to guide diagnosis and treatment planning and is generally safe and painless.

3D Doppler ultrasound combines three‑dimensional ultrasound imaging with Doppler blood‑flow assessment to create spatial, color‑coded maps of moving blood within organs, the placenta, or the fetal heart. It noninvasively shows flow direction, velocity, and vessel anatomy, improving evaluation of heart defects, vascular anomalies, and placental circulation. TVS with Doppler stands for Transvaginal Sonography (TVS) with Doppler ultrasound. It is an internal pelvic ultrasound performed using a probe inserted into the vagina, combined with Doppler imaging to assess blood flow in pelvic organs and masses. This helps evaluate ovarian cysts, uterine abnormalities, ectopic pregnancies and pelvic vascularity by showing blood flow and vascular characteristics.

3D transvaginal (TV) ultrasound is an internal scan using a high‑frequency probe inserted into the vagina to create three‑dimensional images of the uterus, ovaries and early pregnancy. It captures volumetric data for improved assessment of anatomy, congenital uterine anomalies, fibroids, polyps and fetal structure. It’s safe, uses sound waves (no radiation), and aids fertility evaluation and gynecologic diagnosis.

Color Doppler echocardiography shows blood flow patterns, valve function, and can reveal abnormal flows, regurgitation, or effects of ischemia (reduced wall motion). It does not directly visualize coronary artery blockages. Coronary stenosis is diagnosed with tests like CT coronary angiography, invasive coronary angiography, or perfusion/stress imaging; echo findings may suggest but cannot definitively detect blockages.

3‑D echocardiography provides accurate, real‑time volumetric assessment of cardiac chambers and ejection fraction without geometric assumptions, improving measurement precision and reproducibility. It offers detailed visualization of valve anatomy and leaflet motion, aiding diagnosis, surgical planning and guidance during structural interventions.
